Oncology Clinic Mälarsjukhuset Eskilstuna About Us The Oncology Clinic Sörmland is a regional clinic serving all of Sörmland. Our ambition is to care for, cure, treat, and provide nursing care to patients in Sörmland suffering from tumor diseases with the highest competence and quality. On the oncology department, we care not only for patients with tumor diseases but also hematology patients with various blood disorders. Patients on the department are 18 years of age or older. We are also responsible for aftercare of stem cell transplant patients in Sörmland. The oncological operations at Mälarsjukhuset are housed in one building, which provides good logistics for both patients and staff. Radiation therapy is performed on floor 2, the oncology clinic is on floor 3, and the care ward is located on floor 4. An oncology clinic is also available at Nyköpings Hospital. We work at a varying pace where we meet patients in acute situations as well as patients at the end of life. We work during the day in three teams consisting of two nurses and one nursing assistant per team. In the evening, you work more independently but have support from both nursing colleagues, nursing assistants, and a care manager. Your Responsibilities As a nurse, you are responsible for nursing care of the patients assigned to your team. Your work includes medication management, infusions, injections, and transfusions. You will also administer chemotherapy, immunotherapies, and antibody treatments and will handle central venous lines daily. Your work also includes planning upcoming treatments and discharge planning. The work is interesting and varied with both planned care and acute healthcare. You will gain broad expertise as you meet severely ill patients in many different situations. We offer individually adapted onboarding, and nurses new to their professional role are assigned an experienced mentor during their first year with us. It is important that you feel confident in your professional role. You will receive training in chemotherapy handling and we offer opportunities for continuous professional development. As a Product Manager, you have overall responsibility for developing and managing our products within a specific product area – from idea to finished product on the shelf.
