About the Department The Family Court is part of the Individual and Family Care Administration in Borås City and handles family law cases also for Bollebygd, Svenljunga, and Herrljunga municipalities. The work group consists of family court secretaries, social administrators, senior social secretaries, and a unit manager. In total, we are 15 employees. At the Family Court, we continuously work to improve our methods with a strong focus on children's participation and co-creation in various family law processes. With collaboration in focus and a systemic approach, we work to prevent and improve support for children and families in custody disputes. The senior social secretary provides close work leadership, distributes cases, and mentors the family court secretaries. Job Responsibilities The Family Court is tasked with investigating and supporting children and parents in family law matters, such as custody investigations, collaboration meetings, visitation support, adoption, and paternity and parenthood investigations, with the child's best interest in focus. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or, in combination with relevant work experience, another university degree that the employer considers equivalent. Experience working in family law and/or authority work with children and young people is meritorious. The work requires that you have very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing. You have knowledge of children's needs and development and have experience conducting conversations with parents and children. You have the ability to create good relationships and collaborate with others, and you are calm, stable, and professional. Since work often involves meeting people in crisis and/or with complex life situations, it is important that you yourself can see possibilities, convey hope, and treat people respectfully. As a person, you are confident and drive your work forward responsibly and independently. A class B driver's license is required.
