Project Assistants Sought for Research Project

Lund University was founded in 1666 and is repeatedly ranked as one of the world's leading academic institutions. Here are approximately 46,000 students and 8,500 employees in Lund, Helsingborg, and Malmö. We are united in our commitment to understand, explain, and improve our world and people's conditions. We are now seeking six project assistants for the project "Navigating Legal Problems Without Law" The Research Project Studies on access to justice indicate that people living under uncertain circumstances refrain from using the law to solve their legal problems. Instead, they "do nothing." This phenomenon means that legal problems are handled outside conventional legal channels. Despite extensive literature on this topic, there is limited research on how and why individuals, according to their own narratives, handle legal matters outside legal systems. The research project investigates the following research questions: How do people practice and understand "doing nothing" when dealing with legal problems? What can the practice of "doing nothing" teach us about the relevance of formal legislation in legal strategies among people in precarious living conditions? The research project examines these questions in a marginalized residential area in Sweden. The research project offers a new bottom-up method for investigating access to legal proceedings and conflict resolution, and challenges existing paradigms about how and why individuals in vulnerable situations handle the law. Duties The primary task is to organize and conduct at least 20 qualitative interviews relevant to the project, transcribe, translate (if necessary), and participate in the coding and analysis of these interviews. Before the interviews, project assistants will receive thorough training in interview techniques and methodology, and throughout the employment, they will be guided by the project researchers. Research assistants will participate in meetings every other week and three full-day workshops during the employment. Working languages are either Arabic, Somali, or Dari, and Swedish/English. Qualifications Requirements Very good ability to express yourself orally in Arabic, Somali, or Dari Ability to translate Arabic, Somali, or Dari into Swedish or English Strong motivation and ability to work independently under time pressure Good collaboration and communication skills Meriting Factors Lived experience from so-called vulnerable areas University or college-level education Experience with qualitative interviews Outgoing and sociable Assessment Criteria In the appointment, primary attention shall be paid to the qualifications achieved as described above. Very good ability to express yourself orally is of great importance. Good collaboration and communication skills are also an assessment criterion, as are good knowledge of the languages in speech and writing. We strive to ensure diversity. Gender equality shall be considered in this employment. Application The application should include an introductory letter in Swedish or English, not exceeding 1,000 words, containing a brief presentation of yourself as an applicant and your qualifications, as well as a brief description of why you are interested in being a research assistant at the Sociology of Law Department, Lund University; a CV in Swedish or English any diplomas and grades in Swedish or English; names and contact information for two references; any other documents that you as an applicant wish to submit for this position. Applicants will be evaluated on the above points, and top-ranked candidates will be invited for interviews. Employment Terms Fixed-term employment, four months at 50% of a full-time position. Start date October 2, 2026. Other Information For questions about the recruitment process, contact Anna Melin at [email protected]. For questions about the position, contact Ida Nafstad at [email protected] The Faculty of Social Sciences at Lund University is one of the country's leading knowledge centers for research and education in social and behavioral sciences. With operations in both Lund and Helsingborg, over 700 employees, and approximately 5,700 full-time students, the faculty is one of Lund University's largest. We offer a creative academic environment with engaged students and employees. Our primary mission is to develop, communicate, and maintain knowledge about society, people, and organizations in an environment characterized by openness, tolerance, and curiosity. Sociology of Law at Lund University is a social science discipline that has the relationship between law and society as its object of study, such as the tension between the state's formal legislation and informal norm-formation in, for example, civil society. Research is conducted in fields such as gender and discrimination, AI and machine learning, children's rights, welfare, legal cultures, corruption, migration, economic security, and crime. The department offers courses at all levels. The department also runs a bachelor's program in criminology in collaboration with the Department of Sociology. Sales & Partnerships Lead at Compileit 🚀

Do you want to build business through networks and relationships at a Swedish company developing digital products and AI solutions? Compileit is now hiring a Sales & Partnerships Lead. About the Role Compileit was founded by developers Isak Utegård and Jonathan Ortheden with the vision of creating digital products with the end user in focus. Since its launch, the company has helped build some of the world's most downloaded apps and today develops digital products and AI solutions with customers like Swish, SkiStar, ICA, and Barncancerfonden. The company works closely with its customers and is often involved from the early ideation stages all the way through to finished product. By combining technical excellence, product understanding, and business focus, Compileit helps organizations solve complex challenges and create measurable value. Now we're looking for a Sales & Partnerships Lead who wants to build long-term customer relationships, create new business opportunities, and contribute to continued growth in a company where technology, product, and business go hand in hand. Sales & Partnerships Lead This is a key commercial role responsible for driving our growth. It's not about cold calling or volume-based prospecting—it's about creating business deals with significant customer value. You identify and develop business opportunities through networks and industry contexts. Often the first contact isn't a sales meeting, but the beginning of a dialogue that leads to business over time. You move between technology, product, and business, working closely with decision-makers, product owners, and technical leaders to understand needs and shape relevant partnerships. For us, this is collaborative work rather than a hierarchical sales function. You work closely with both the founders and the rest of the team, where sales, product, and engineering are in the same loop. Because the development team is involved early, you can connect customer needs directly to concrete solutions. But while relationships are built long-term, the role ultimately comes down to being able to close deals, drive the process forward, and package offers that lead to the right types of projects. Key Responsibilities Identify new business opportunities through networks, events, and industry contacts. Initiate and develop dialogues with decision-makers, product owners, and technical leaders. Build and maintain long-term customer relationships. Drive business processes from first contact all the way through to completed agreement. Represent Compileit in external settings and contribute to how we package our offering. Structure, develop, and maintain our commercial pipeline. What We're Looking For We believe you thrive in the space between people, business, and technology, and that you have a natural curiosity about how digital products are actually built and work. You don't need to be a developer, but you're interested enough in technology to have relevant conversations with both business and tech roles. You enjoy following developments in AI, apps, and modern software because you genuinely find it interesting, not because you see it as a necessary evil or an obligation 😉. You're both creative and structured in your work approach—you can think freely and find new business opportunities while also having the ability to create clarity, prioritize, and drive things methodically forward. Since much of the business is built through relationships and networks, the role also means you're comfortable in settings where business opportunities often arise outside the office—at events, meetings, and industry contexts that sometimes fall outside a traditional 9–5 framework. We'd love it if you have Experience in B2B sales, partnerships, or business development with a documented ability to build long-term relationships. A genuine interest in technology, digital product development, and AI. Very strong communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written. Merits Experience selling qualified consulting services, custom software development, or digital projects (rather than ready-made product licenses/SaaS). Experience from consulting, product, or tech companies where you've worked closely with development teams. An established network among digital decision-makers in the Swedish market. What We Offer You're offered a role with great responsibility and considerable freedom where you have direct influence over how we grow, which business we take on, and how we develop our offering. You'll be a key player in a flat organization with short decision paths, where commercial drive and technical excellence are closely connected. Our office is based in Stockholm, with regular meetings, events, and travel. If you think sales is as much about people as it is about numbers, and you want to work close to technology, product development, and AI in a company that builds real products, we think you'll thrive with us. Our Recruitment Process This recruitment process is handled by Academic Work, and our client requests that all questions regarding the position be sent to Academic Work. The responsible recruitment consultant is Milly ([email protected]). We conduct rolling recruitment and will remove the listing once a sufficient number of candidates have reached the final stage of the recruitment process. The recruitment process includes two selection tests: a personality test and a cognitive ability test. These tests are tools to help us find the candidate with the highest potential for the position and to promote equality, diversity, and a fair recruitment process.
