About Us The Economist position is centrally located within the Finance and Development Unit, which is part of the administrative staff. WORK TASKS As a landscape architect with us, you contribute to the development of Gävle's public environments and the land owned by the municipality. You work to develop sustainable, attractive, and accessible living environments throughout the entire urban development process. The work is carried out in project form where you can have the role of internal project manager, consultant commissioner, or project participant. You develop decision-making materials, investigations, and design proposals both independently and together with other expertise in the urban development field. In the role, you will, among other things: • lead or participate in urban environment and development projects • develop programs, investigations, and design proposals for various locations and environments • contribute landscape architecture expertise in detailed plans, development projects, and building permit matters • handle and make assessments in matters concerning urban environment, nature, accessibility, stormwater management, and safety • coordinate and follow up assignments performed by external consultants • collaborate with colleagues, authorities, consultants, developers, and other actors in the urban development process • participate in dialogues, presentations, and other forums related to urban development The work is varied and gives you great opportunities to influence how Gävle's public environments develop, both today and in the future. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with education as a landscape architect or other education that the employer deems equivalent and relevant for the position. You have several years of experience working as a landscape architect or urban planner in a corresponding field. It is a merit if you have experience with: • project management, preferably according to established models such as XLPM • design in CAD and GIS-based tools • visualization in, for example, Rhino, V-Ray, Enscape, and Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) • work within public operations • work in an Office environment • local knowledge of Gävle and its development Personal Competencies Analytical You have the ability to engage with complex issues where different interests, needs, and conditions need to be weighed.
