About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now seeking more employees. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation services, remand prisons, and inmate transport. The Norrtälje Operations Area is part of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's Stockholm region and includes the Norrtälje prison. We are undergoing a major capacity expansion, and much is happening in the operations area in the form of renovations and new construction. Within a few years, we are expected to have capacity for approximately 600 inmates and approximately 450 employees. The largest occupational group is prison officers, but we also employ healthcare professionals, administrative staff, educators, production managers, and others. We have now introduced a new management structure that creates a new management level between the Criminal Care Director (facility director) and the Prison Inspector. Prison Inspectors are first-line managers and lead employees working at the facility. The new management level is titled Assistant Criminal Care Director (KVC).
