New and follow-up visits, consultations, laboratory work, and examinations alternate throughout the workday. The clinic's mission includes certain treatments. At the thyroid clinic, patients with hyperthyroidism are examined and treated. We follow patients with severe osteoporosis or low bone density based on endocrine or congenital disease; assessment of DXA measurements in these cases is part of our operations. The Diagnostic Center evaluates approximately 140–180 patients per year. There are good opportunities to collaborate with various subspecialties at the hospital and with regional departments in Gothenburg. The majority of the 1,000 patients at the AK clinic are followed through a nurse-led unit. Investigation and follow-up cases are handled mainly by AT/BT- or ST-physicians with support from experienced supervisors.
