Trainee Nurse to Intermediate Care Unit

The Intermediate Care Unit (IMA) is a relatively new care unit, which means we are still developing the unit together. It is a 24-hour operation and patients come to us from throughout the hospital. Patients cared for at IMA require a higher level of care than on a regular ward, but not as advanced as in intensive care. At IMA we have five care beds divided into two care teams, and the average length of stay is approximately 1-2 days. JOB DUTIES Common diagnoses we treat include respiratory failure, sepsis, metabolic disorders and intoxications. Patients come to us from medical wards, acute care services and as "step down" from our intensive care unit. As a nurse, you will work with this team to be responsible for the care of 2-3 patients.
