The majority of those sentenced to criminal justice penalties serve their sentences in the probation service. Probation is criminal justice supervision that takes place in the community, where a probation sentence involves both monitoring and support for those convicted. Job Description As a probation inspector in the supervision team, you work to support clients in living a life free from crime. The work tasks are varied and include, among other things: Excavation, pipe laying, and groundwork Operational and maintenance measures in the water and wastewater pipe networks For smaller assignments, such as operational measures, planning the practical execution of the task assigned to the current work team, which includes: Ordering materials Developing and performing simple technical drawings Ordering cable notifications and practical coordination Investigations in the water and wastewater networks, such as tracing, checking connection conditions, and leak detection Documentation in digital mapping systems The positions are based in Säffle and Åmål respectively, but the work is performed in both municipalities. In the position, you will also be part of the Water and Wastewater Pipe Network's on-call group, which means that approximately every 4–5 weeks you will be on call and, together with colleagues, be responsible for performing emergency measures in Säffle and Åmål municipalities' water and wastewater pipe networks even outside regular working hours. The Water and Wastewater Unit's operations are classified as socially critical and subject to strict legal requirements, which means the work requires great responsibility and accuracy. Since we work with both wastewater and drinking water, high standards are also placed on hygiene, order, and accuracy in daily work. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.
