Vascular Surgery Specialist/Senior Physician, Surgery Center, Umeå

The Vascular Surgery Section is part of the university healthcare unit Surgery Center in Umeå and provides local and regional highly specialized care for Region Västerbotten and the Northern Healthcare Region. Here we work across the full spectrum of vascular surgery, with both open and endovascular surgery. We manage diseases of the aorta, extracranial and cervical vessels, visceral and peripheral vessels, and varicose veins. The section also performs access surgery for dialysis and participates in tumor and trauma surgery in close collaboration with other clinics. We have regional responsibility for several areas of highly specialized care, including complicated thoracoabdominal aortic diseases, graft infections, vertebral artery aneurysms, and carotid surgery. Within the section, research is conducted in areas such as AAA epidemiology, marker biology, and peripheral ischemia, and we welcome new colleagues who wish to contribute to developing and broadening our research profile.
