About the role As Configuration Manager, you'll have overall responsibility for our Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and Service Assurance & Configuration Management process (SACM). Your role is to ensure that the organization has accurate, reliable, and accessible information about our configuration objects, so that various stakeholders can execute their processes effectively. You'll work closely with colleagues in the business and IT to develop a modern, stable, and user-friendly platform that follows best practices and supports our long-term goals. Your responsibilities will include: Responsibility for defining the scope and purpose of the SACM process and CMDB tool. Create, maintain, and further develop documentation for the SACM process and CMDB. Develop and maintain the CMDB's data model, including classes, relationships, forms, fields, and rules. Ensure measurability by defining and monitoring relevant key performance indicators (KPIs). Work on automating the lifecycles of configuration items. Convene and own the agenda for forums with CMDB/SACM stakeholders. Collaborate and communicate with other stakeholders, such as business analysts, to ensure that the CMDB contains the right information and that interfaces for consuming this information are clear and known. Prepare documentation and training materials for the CMDB and related processes. Support and guide operational Configuration Managers in daily work. Own policies, models, and procedures related to the CMDB and the process for monitoring and acting on KPIs. The following will make you successful in this role: Several years of experience (approximately 4–5 years) working with ServiceNow and its data model. Deep knowledge of ServiceNow as well as service assurance and configuration management processes, including CMDB. Relevant certifications in ServiceNow and SACM/CMDB. Experience taking ownership of processes and tools within configuration management. Ability to define, monitor, and act on key performance indicators related to the process and platform. It's also meritorious if you have: Experience with development in ServiceNow and a good understanding of the platform's features and capabilities. Documented ability to customize, improve, and optimize solutions in ServiceNow. Habit of staying updated on new features and best practices within ServiceNow.
