Subject Description The subject comprises digitalization in agriculture with a focus on the application of mechatronics or robotics. The biogas process represents a valuable tool today for achieving several different societal benefits and environmental goals. Through a biogas process, it is possible to treat various waste, close nutrient cycles, and produce renewable energy and nutrient-rich fertilizer. The biogas process also represents an important tool for preparedness and self-sufficiency. The process is driven by a complex microbiological process that needs to be in balance for efficient and stable biogas production. At the Department of Molecular Sciences, research is ongoing regarding operation and optimization of the process and within process microbiology, often interconnected. The focus of the doctoral projects is as follows, with some possibility for independent direction. Biogas production from agricultural substrates with focus on operational optimization. There is currently rapid development of biogas within agriculture and there is a need for knowledge building. As a doctoral researcher in this project, you will operate various biogas processes in the laboratory with the goal of optimizing the processes, both regarding gas production and biofertilizer quality. The processes will be analyzed with chemical and microbiological analyses, with the possibility for modeling. Process Microbiology. In this project, the focus is on the microbiology in various types of biogas processes and how microorganism activity is affected by different operating conditions and is linked to the process function and stability. Investigator, Pharmacometrics / Pharmacokinetics

Our Operations The Authorizations operational area works in several ways to ensure that appropriate medicines reach patients. Approval of new medicines and new indications, as well as safety monitoring of approved products, is a central part. Advice regarding medicine development and information about medicines are other important parts. The operational area has approximately 370 employees and is divided into several units, where the Effect and Safety unit evaluates documentation concerning medicine efficacy and safety. The investigations and recommendations made form the basis for decisions on whether a medicine should be approved for clinical use. We collaborate with other EU member states in the investigation work and actively contribute to committees and working groups within the European Medicines Agency (EMA). During the early modern period, the majority of all food in Europe consisted of grain, transformed into bread, beer, and porridge. Project Description Cyberattacks and cyber warfare are an increasing threat to all critical infrastructure. Power systems are particularly vulnerable because other critical infrastructure, such as healthcare, communications, and payment systems, depend on them. We are seeking a doctoral candidate who wants to conduct important and challenging research in the field of cybersecurity for power systems. With the help of artificial intelligence (AI)/machine learning (ML), threat modeling, and simulations, we can learn more about how cybersecurity can be improved. The following are examples of possible projects: Cybersecurity for power grid substations and their data communications Cyber threats to future power systems Cyber resilience in power systems Cybersecure power systems with the help of AI/ML We offer varied and exciting work that is shaped by the doctoral candidates and the research group together. Each doctoral candidate will be supervised by at least two advisors. The Department of Electrical Engineering also offers salary supplements for employment as a doctoral candidate at the department. Duties Conduct research on cybersecurity for power systems with the aim of producing scientific articles. Develop and work with software tools that help conduct research to, for example, simulate data flows or cyberattacks. Teaching and other departmental service will also be included in the duties, but no more than 20% of working time. Qualification Requirements Eligible for doctoral-level education is someone who has completed a degree at an advanced level, such as a Master of Science degree or equivalent foreign degree assessed as corresponding to a master's degree, in computer science, electrical engineering, energy systems, information technology, systems in technology and society, engineering physics, or equivalent, or completed at least 240 higher education credits, of which at least 60 higher education credits at an advanced level including an independent thesis of at least 15 higher education credits, or acquired qualifications in other ways that are essentially equivalent to the above. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities. You have good collaboration and communication skills. You are goal-oriented, organized, and thorough, and can work effectively both independently and with others. You take responsibility for your work and drive it forward. Since the position involves some teaching, you also need to have an interest in teaching and be able to explain things clearly. For the position, you are required to have a good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English in both speech and writing.
