Barn Technician for Dairy Cattle
Lövsta Agricultural Research We are looking for you who want to work as a barn technician in the dairy cattle facility at SLU, Lövsta Agricultural Research outside Uppsala. We are close to thirty employees in the team at Lövsta, where half work with the dairy cattle herd of 300 cows with replacements and about 6 employees work in the pig barn where the pig herd comprises 110 sows with integrated production. The barns are highly mechanized with, among other things, milking robots (VMS) in the dairy barn. The operation conducts approximately twenty research projects annually and receives a couple of thousand SLU students. About the job We are looking for you who want to work with the regular tasks in a dairy cattle herd such as supervision in barns and pasture, cleaning, registrations, administration, weighing, and feeding. The work is scheduled with weekend and on-call work. Certain work may occur in Lövsta's chicken and laying hen barn whose operation is integrated with the dairy barn. The daily work is interspersed with tasks related to research activities and support for teaching. Your background You should have practical experience working with farm animals and milk production; theoretical knowledge is desirable. The Department of Immunology, Genetics and Pathology at Uppsala University has a broad research profile with strong research groups focused on cancer, genetic and autoimmune diseases, among others. Our Operations Clinical Microbiology is one of Akademiska Laboratory's five divisions. With 120 employees, the division carries out a broad and growing microbiological diagnostics, as well as teaching, research and development work. The operations are accredited according to ISO 15189 and environmentally certified according to ISO 14001. In addition to public and private healthcare providers in Uppsala County, we perform specialized analyses for customers in the Uppsala-Örebro region. Your Mission As a licensed biomedical analyst at the Bacteriology Department, your main task is laboratory work with a focus on culture-based diagnostics. Here you work with manual and automated culturing of patient samples, as well as species and resistance determination. For bacterial identification, analysis instruments and manual methods are used, and culture plates are interpreted through visual inspection. Together with other professional categories, such as specialist physicians and microbiologists, you work on daily operations and development projects. IT Operations Manager

We are now recruiting three IT Operations Managers who want to take complete responsibility for some of our most business-critical systems. With us, you will become a key person in the work of developing and managing systems that ensure Uppsala's water and waste supply functions – every day. Postdoc on Terrestrial Carbon Cycle Under Global Change
Department of Soil and Environment A 2-year postdoc position is available in the Soil and Environmental Physics group at the Department of Soil and Environment, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), in Uppsala. We are looking for a researcher fascinated by the interactions of ecological, biogeochemical, and physical processes that shape the responses of the carbon cycle to global change and the implementation of these interactions into soil and ecosystem models. Depending on the selected candidate, the research project can focus on statistical analysis of literature data, process-based modeling, or a combination of the two. Our operations include extensive outpatient care with approximately 10,000 doctor visits per year, a day care unit for infusion treatments and outpatient investigations, as well as inpatient care. Rheumatology has 7 inpatient beds primarily for the investigation and treatment of systemic diseases.
