Insurance Investigator - Family Care Allowance and Infection Compensation

Every year, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency makes 21 million decisions that affect people's lives and society as a whole. We distribute approximately 260 billion kronor annually. Investigations, analyses, and teamwork In your role as an insurance investigator, you are responsible for processing applications and independently making legally sound decisions. You investigate whether a person has income qualifying for sickness benefits and the right to compensation. More specifically, the job involves gathering, investigating, and analyzing various documentation, such as medical certificates. You work according to established processes and with support from guidance documents. The work is largely administrative, which includes ongoing documentation as well as calculations and benefit payments. When needed, you contact the individual, employers, and healthcare providers, which occurs in writing or by phone. In this position, you work with the benefits family care allowance and infection compensation. When working with family care allowance, you interact with individuals who have a seriously ill close relative in the end stages of life and who therefore need to leave work or other activities. When working with infection compensation, you interact with individuals who cannot work because they have contracted an infection. You identify needs, provide information about compensation, answer questions, and guide people through our e-services. Your duties also include making decisions about income qualifying for sickness benefits (SGI) and explaining decisions to those who do not receive the compensation they applied for. You will become part of a team that together is responsible for planning and distributing work. As a new employee, you will receive introductory training and support from both managers and designated mentors, as well as various support functions including specialists and insurance medicine advisors.
