Product Engineer
You know that bit where every company says they're "changing the world"? Yeah, it can feel a little forced. But we like to think our story actually has some realness to it. Our story begins with Shadi Bitar and Ninos Malki, who came to Sweden from Syria as kids and discovered that books could be a bridge - helping them learn the language, understand the culture, and explore new worlds. A thought emerged, what if everyone could have that? And just like that, Nextory was born - your all-access pass to read, listen, and discover new perspectives without limits. And now, we're on a quest to find a Product Engineer. Let us tell you about the role 📖 As a Product Engineer at Nextory, you will be involved throughout the entire product development journey - from early ideas and problem discovery to implementation, launch, and continuous improvement. We're shifting from traditional development roles towards engineers who take ownership, think holistically, and contribute far beyond writing code. We believe that the future of software engineering is more about authoring intent than writing lines of code. You will work across the stack with a focus on backend development, distributed systems, integrations, and scalable architecture. Just as importantly, you'll collaborate closely with relevant stakeholders to shape solutions that create real value for our users. The main character we're looking for 👀 We believe you are a curious and product-minded engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and building scalable, high-quality systems. You thrive in collaborative environments and are just as comfortable collaborating with humans as you are working alongside AI-powered tools, agents and workflows to scale your own impact. Furthermore, we believe you have: MSc, BSc in Computer Science or another relevant field, or equivalent work experience. Around 5 years or more experience working with backend development A strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices patterns, and how to build for scalability and resilience. These are a few of the technologies we work with. Backend: Java Cloud & Infrastructure: Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform Databases, Caching & Messaging: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Kafka While solid Java experience is strongly preferred, we don't expect you to have experience with everything else that we're using. We care more about having strong engineering fundamentals and a curiosity to learn. The Nextory way of working 🏠 At Nextory, we believe a strong and inclusive culture is key to our success and that culture flourishes when we meet and collaborate in person as much as possible. That's why we spend the majority of the working time at our beautiful office! We are based in Stockholm, Sweden, with offices in Paris and Bangalore. Our hybrid work policy includes four days in the office and Wednesdays as a work-from-home day. Your next story starts here 💫 We look forward to your application. Applications are reviewed continuously. If you have any questions about the role, please contact Erika Thorslund, Talent Acquisition, [email protected] Please note that we do not offer relocation and that a six-month probationary period applies.
