Development Coordinator for the IT and Digitalization Department

In the role of Development Coordinator, you will become part of our newly established staff unit within the IT and Digitalization Department – a team of engaged, competent, and down-to-earth colleagues who enjoy collaborating, developing, and having fun together. We are the department's cohesive link and provide strategic and operational support to management and operations. By creating structure, coordination, and smart working methods, we contribute to enabling the department to focus on its core mission and develop Malmö city's digital solutions. The unit works broadly with target management, planning and follow-up, internal control, investigations, referrals, legal matters, contracts, archives and records management, and coordination of administrative processes within finance, HR, and communications. We also handle matters related to facilities, planning connected to finance and budget, and parts of the department's preparedness and security work. Since the unit is under development, you have a unique opportunity to help shape working methods, develop operations, and leave your mark on how we work – together. Duties As a Development Coordinator at our IT and Digitalization Department, you will have a varied and developmental role where you contribute to creating structure, coordination, and development within the department. An important responsibility in this role is to coordinate and develop the department's work with target management, operational planning, and follow-up. You work closely with the management group and colleagues within the staff unit, and support managers and operations in translating targets into activities and results. You will also be part of the administration's target management group and contribute to developing common working methods, methods, and tools for planning and follow-up. The role also includes coordinating internal control work, preparing decision-making materials, referrals, and investigations, as well as reporting to the administration and committee. You provide support in implementing new governing documents, changed routines, and working methods, and contribute to the department's quality and development work. You represent the department in administration-wide and city-wide networks and working groups, and ensure that common initiatives, steering signals, and development initiatives are implemented in our operations. The role also includes elements of development and change management. You lead or participate in projects, facilitate workshops and collaboration forums, and contribute to creating a learning organization where common working methods develop over time. You are also responsible for department-wide assignments such as coordinating the introduction of new employees, common competence development initiatives, and certain internal communications. Qualifications We are looking for someone with: An academic degree of at least 180 credits in social sciences, political science, economics, or other education that the employer considers equivalent At least four years of experience with similar tasks, preferably within target management, operational planning, or qualified, strategic operational support Experience and understanding of operating in a politically governed organization Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing Good knowledge of the Office suite Meritorious: Education in change or project management Experience in operational development and change management Experience in process mapping Experience in investigation and strategy work Personal qualities: To thrive in this role, we believe you are a structured and self-driven person who plans, prioritizes, and drives your work forward with a focus on quality and results. You have a holistic perspective, are accustomed to coordinating processes, and enjoy a role where you can create structure and develop working methods.
