Sandviken Family Center's operations Family Treatment is the open care service of the Department of Individual and Family Care for families with children aged 0–20 years. The unit offers treatment with change-oriented interventions commissioned by the investigating units of Individual and Family Care for children and young people.
The unit employs a systemic and solution-oriented approach where the path to success is through good relationships and collaboration with both the family and the family's network as well as with partners such as schools, child and youth health care, adult psychiatry, and others. Family Treatment has broad methodological anchoring and actively works on development to ensure a knowledge-based and evidence-based approach. The unit's mission encompasses everything from shorter supportive parental conversations to longer and comprehensive treatment interventions that include the entire family and their network. We work with several evidence-based treatment methods in addition to traditional family therapy.
At Family Treatment, 15 family therapists work together with treatment coordinators and a unit manager. The unit has a mix of experiences and educational backgrounds, which we see as a strength. We offer good opportunities for professional development and the entire work team is actively involved in developing the service. We have good and close collaboration with our clients, close leadership, and regular external group supervision.

WORK TASKS
We are looking for someone who wants to be part of an engaged team where we work together to develop family treatment work within the framework of the Social Services Act with a focus on a systematic approach, network work, and attachment.
To succeed and thrive in this position, you are a person who can take initiative in social settings. You are good at creating dialogue and trusting relationships. You enjoy collaboration and have an unpretentious approach to others. You are a calm and courageous person who can distinguish between the issue and the person. You communicate clearly and confidently and adapt your actions and language based on the situation. Family therapist is a flexible profession that requires the ability to simultaneously handle various forms of problems in a solution-oriented way. The work often involves a combination of individual conversations and family conversations in our offices or in families' homes. The work includes documentation in the form of ongoing treatment records, creating implementation plans, treatment reports, and final reports.
We have annual working hours, which means you need to be flexible and able to work early mornings and/or evenings if the need arises.
If you are a person who is good at bringing out people's desire for change and can find development potential in individuals and families, you are the right person for the job. You are structured, proactive, flexible, and persistent, with a well-developed ability to create good collaboration with colleagues and partners. You can easily shift focus to concentrate your efforts where they are needed most each day and are able to maintain structure and keep your goal in sight in demanding situations. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
The unit manager has close day-to-day leadership together with the treatment coordinator, who provides time for support to the service for resource-efficient and goal-oriented treatment. You will have access to existing methodology through internal learning and peer supervision as well as through external training in methods that the unit needs to strengthen going forward.
External supervision is a given as well as internal meetings. All work in the service shall be based on knowledge- and evidence-based practice.
A probationary period may be applied for the position.
QUALIFICATIONS
The position requires higher education such as a social worker degree or another academic degree with a behavioral science foundation that the employer deems appropriate, and a driver's license category B. You must also have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as good ability to use computers and telephones in your work. You need to have experience working with children/young people, parents, and families.
Meritorious qualifications include experience with any of our methods such as Signs of Safety, Strengthening Families, Safer Children, The Ladder, Functional Family Therapy, as well as experience in exercising authority with children and young people.
It is also meritorious to have knowledge of case management systems for documentation and the BBIC work model or similar training.

The Department of Individual and Family Care in Sandviken municipality has a functionally divided organization. Within the department's area of responsibility are child and youth care, substance abuse care, financial assistance and family law, as well as management and supervision according to the Alcohol Act. The department has a well-developed open care for children, young people and their families as well as for adults. We actively work on implementing Signs of Safety in all parts of the department.
