Psychologist for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry 24-Hour Care Department 2 in Malmö

Make a difference. Every day. Would you like to work in a department where you can combine psychological assessment, treatment, and development work in close collaboration with other professionals? Are you also looking for stimulating work where you make a real difference for children and young people with complex psychiatric challenges? Then this might be the position for you. Within the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP) 24-hour care operation in Malmö, there are two care units, an acute care unit, and a regional emergency clinic for children and young people up to 18 years old. The operational area also includes FACT, the regional teams BUP Trauma, Team for Psychosis and Bipolar Disorders, and the Gender Identity Clinic. Child and Adolescent Psychiatry's 24-hour care is in an exciting development phase with several initiatives to advance care for children and young people. Department 2 offers highly specialized 24-hour care for children and young people with eating disorder issues where the psychiatric condition needs to be stabilized. Often there is comorbidity with other child psychiatric conditions such as mood disorders, self-harm behavior, suicidality, and post-traumatic conditions. Our mission is to strengthen the patient's functional level so that continued treatment can take place in outpatient care. We work based on evidence-based treatment methods, national care and intervention programs, and standardized care processes. The department has 8+2 (BI) care beds, and we work multidisciplinarily with the child and family at the center. Through early collaboration with care neighbors, social services, and schools, we create conditions for safe and cohesive care. We have also recently moved into modern and fit-for-purpose facilities that provide excellent opportunities to offer a safe care environment for both patients and staff. 1 position(s). WORK RESPONSIBILITIES As a psychologist with us, you are responsible for psychological assessments, evaluations, and treatment interventions for children and young people who receive inpatient care at the department. You conduct structured clinical assessments and document observations, evaluations, and planned interventions in medical records. In exceptional cases, you may also participate in in-depth psychiatric evaluations in close collaboration with outpatient care. Treatment work includes, among other things, psychoeducation regarding eating disorders and comorbidity, as well as psychological treatment based on evidence-based methods, such as CBT-E and CBT for comorbid conditions. You work in close collaboration with physicians, nurses, nursing assistants, social workers, and other professionals. The role includes leading treatment conferences one to two times per week where the team jointly plans and monitors patients' care. You also participate in rounds, care planning, and other multidisciplinary forums, and contribute psychological expertise through supervision, consultation, and education to colleagues. The role also includes providing support to patients and relatives through, for example, family meetings, and participating in the department's quality and development work, where you contribute to the development of routines, working methods, and a good work environment. QUALIFICATIONS We welcome you as a licensed psychologist with authorization to practice in Swedish health care. Swedish language skills corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale are required. It is an advantage if you have experience working in child and adolescent psychiatry, 24-hour care, or other psychiatric operations. Experience with psychological treatment of children and young people with eating disorder issues and other complex psychiatric comorbidity is also an advantage. If you have knowledge of CBT, CBT-E, or family-oriented treatment interventions, we view that as a positive. To thrive with us, you are confident in your professional role and have a good ability to work both independently and with others. You have a professional demeanor, are attentive, and enjoy working in an operation where collaboration and flexibility are essential to provide patients with the best possible care. We value great commitment, good teamwork skills, and an interest in development and improvement work. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability. As part of the suitability assessment, before making a job offer decision, a check may be made against the suspicion and burden register.
