The Department of Occupational Therapy is a dynamic and creative educational and research environment at the Department of Neurobiology, Care Science and Society, located on Campus Flemingsberg in southern Stockholm. We are seeking a professor with strong credentials in occupational therapy, work science and pedagogy, who with commitment can contribute to and further develop occupational therapy, activity science and education at Karolinska Institute. The department's vision is to contribute to improving people's health through research, education and interprofessional collaboration with a scientific foundation in occupational therapy and activity science. Education is conducted at basic level (Occupational Therapy Programme), advanced level (Master's in Occupational Therapy), as well as free-standing and elective courses and at doctoral level. Subject Description Occupational therapy is a main subject within one of Karolinska Institute's educational programmes at basic level, the Occupational Therapy Programme, and in courses at advanced level in the field. The scientific discipline of occupational therapy is based on theory and practice concerning human activities that create engagement and change at both individual and group and system levels. The subject develops knowledge of human activities and how these can be used in everyday activities and occupational therapy. Through education and research in occupational therapy and activity science, health equity and social change can be driven forward. Your Role We are looking for someone who has internationally leading research activities in occupational therapy and activity science, as well as experience in both leading educational activities and conducting pedagogical development work. At the Department of Occupational Therapy there is a stimulating and creative work environment and together with engaged colleagues you as a professor conduct research and education of high quality. As a professor you will lead a research group that is expected to conduct internationally leading research in occupational therapy and activity science.
