Folkuniversitetet Region Väst seeks Facilities Manager
Do you want to be part of developing places where people meet, learn, and grow? At Folkuniversitetet, we believe in the power of knowledge. We are an idea-driven educational organization with roots in the university world and a mission that goes beyond education itself – to contribute to an open society where people through knowledge and education have the opportunity to develop and make a difference. In Region Väst, we are present in many locations and conduct broad activities – from folk education and adult education to high school, art, and culture. Our facilities are therefore far more than square meters and rental agreements. They are workplaces, learning environments, and meeting places for thousands of people. Now we are seeking a facilities manager who wants to take overall responsibility for these environments while also being part of developing how we use them in the future. About the Assignment As facilities manager, you have overall responsibility for Folkuniversitetet Region Väst's property and premises management work. The assignment includes operations in Värmland, Västra Götaland, and Norra Halland. This means, of course, that our facilities should be safe, well-functioning, sustainable, and cost-effective. But the assignment is also about development. How do we use our facilities in the best way? How can they support new ways of working and learning? How do we create attractive physical meeting places while operational needs change? You will therefore move between long-term strategic questions and things that need to be solved here and now. You work closely with our operations and managers, but also with property owners, suppliers, and other external parties. We believe in leading together. That means you naturally take responsibility for your own assignment, but also that you together with other managers take responsibility for the whole. We believe that the best solutions are created when different perspectives meet, when we share knowledge, and when we dare to engage – in a constructive way – even outside our own area. You lead approximately 8 employees within facilities and services, with support from hourly employees as needed. You have personnel, operational, and financial responsibility and report to the Head of Administration for Finance, Property, and IT. Some parts of your assignment You will, among other things: Develop and implement our property and premises strategy Work long-term with premises management and how we use our facilities in the best way Responsible for budget, forecasts, and follow-up in the area Responsible for rental agreements, renegotiations, and relationships with our property owners Lead premises projects, renovations, moves, and establishments Develop work with operations, maintenance, and service Responsible for procurement, contracts, and supplier management Ensure structured work with fire safety, facility security, alarms, and access systems Together with other parts of the organization contribute to our sustainability efforts, particularly through energy efficiency and wise use of our facilities Produce relevant decision documents and follow-ups Lead and create good conditions for employees within facilities and services And you will likely discover things we haven't thought of yet. We see that as an important part of the assignment. Who do we think you are? We believe that you enjoy the combination of people, operations, economics, and property. You have the ability to look ahead and think long-term, while also understanding that a facilities assignment sometimes means rolling up your sleeves and solving concrete problems. As a leader, you are secure and clear and create good conditions for others to succeed. We believe in kind leadership – not in the sense of always being accommodating, but in the sense of wishing others well, being clear, listening, and taking responsibility even when it's difficult. And you need to enjoy leading together with others. With us, you are not just a manager of your own area. You are also part of a shared leadership where we expect our managers to contribute their perspectives, be curious about others', and take responsibility for Folkuniversitetet Region Väst as a whole. This sometimes means stepping outside your own area, asking questions, challenging, and helping a colleague – and being open to others doing the same. We value curiosity. We are in development and are not looking for someone who only wants to maintain what we already have, but someone who wants to be part of thinking about what we need going forward. We believe you have Relevant academic education in, for example, property management, construction, or technology, or equivalent competence acquired through work experience Several years of experience in qualified property management and premises management work Experience with budget, financial, and personnel responsibility Knowledge of lease law, occupational environment, and systematic fire safety work Experience in project management, procurement, contracts, and supplier management Good digital skills and ability to work systematically with follow-up and decision documents Good ability to express yourself in Swedish in speech and writing Driver's license category B, as our operations are located in multiple places in the region We will place great emphasis on who you are, how you lead, and how you see the assignment. Why Folkuniversitetet? With us, you get an independent management assignment with great opportunities to make an impact. But above all, you get to work in an organization with a clear social mission. Folkuniversitetet has existed for a long time, but our mission may be more relevant than ever. In a time of rapid change, we need places where people can meet, learn new things, develop, and access knowledge throughout their lives. As a facilities manager, you will be an important part in creating those places. Knowledge changes. Do you want to be part of it? About the Position The position is a permanent full-time employment based in Gothenburg. We apply a six-month probationary period. Travel within Region Väst's operational area will occur. Start date by agreement. Application Welcome to submit your application in the form of a CV and personal letter by September 20 via our e-recruitment system. We conduct ongoing selection, and the position may therefore be filled before the final application deadline. Want to know more? System Developer
Do you want to build and further develop systems used for loans, savings, and credit cards – in a team that takes full responsibility from requirements to operations? At Norion Bank, we're now looking for a developer who wants to combine strong technical problem-solving with close team collaboration. ABOUT THE ROLE In our team, we develop the bank's platform, web, and app for consumer products. We work closely with our users and product managers to understand their needs and those of our customers. Our platform is built on modern technology. We maintain a focus on quality and resilience even while maintaining a high pace. As a DevOps team, we take full responsibility for development, testing, deployment, operations, and support for our system(s). Cybersecurity and privacy are a natural part of our daily work and permeate both our working methods and design choices. Everyone is given room (and expected) to contribute to design and architecture decisions. At Norion Bank, we have a cloud-first strategy, which means all services are developed for and operated in Azure. ABOUT YOU We're looking for someone with several years of professional experience developing in .NET. You view testability, automation, and observability as a natural part of development work. As a person, you are curious, attentive, and quality-conscious. You have experience operating in Azure and ideally also experience setting up infrastructure as code, preferably using Bicep. It's a given for you that you write tests. We believe that you have experience and interest in some of these areas: .NET 10/C# Blazor Azure SQL An extra plus if you're interested in Domain Driven Design, CQRS, and event sourcing! At Norion Bank, we want to build teams where solutions, challenges, and obstacles are discussed openly and handled together. This requires that you are someone who engages, shares your perspectives, and takes responsibility for the whole – not just your own code or tasks. With us, you need to be able to ask for help when needed, contribute to supporting others, and dare to question, challenge, and drive technical discussions forward. The group language is Swedish and all documentation is conducted in Swedish. This is a permanent full-time position with an initial probationary period, starting according to agreement.
