Eating Disorder Center Youth Department with NHV Assignment Seeking Nurse!

About the Department We are a specialized eating disorder unit for children and young adults up to age 25. We have 8 beds divided between children and families as well as youth. We are currently co-located while awaiting new facilities in 2028. During the treatment period of approximately 12 and 8 weeks respectively, patients with serious eating disorders are offered treatment according to a structured care program. The department is part of a care chain that includes specialized outpatient care and day care. Care work on the unit is conducted in teams. The team includes physicians, nurses, nursing assistants, counselors, family therapists, and psychologists. We also collaborate with dietitians, cooks, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and music therapists. The department holds the assignment of National Highly Specialized Care (NHV) for difficult-to-treat eating disorders. Intensive development work is ongoing in the unit. As part of this, we are strengthening competency levels through joint training initiatives. We now welcome two nurses to our expanding team. What Do We Offer? We view continuing education as an important cornerstone for development and evidence-based care. We offer training in various aspects of eating disorders and psychiatry. We work with environmental therapy and have ongoing efforts to implement mentalization-based environmental therapy (MBT) in the department. Staff participate in regular group meetings with the department's psychologists for supervisory discussions. Our goal is to create well-functioning care that best meets the patient's needs and circumstances. In this work, care staff and the rest of the team play an active role. Research and method development are conducted within the department. Job Responsibilities The patient population often has both somatic and psychiatric comorbidities, both more acute and long-term conditions. You will have the opportunity to use and develop your competence in both nursing care and patient interaction. The work includes standard nursing responsibilities. You work according to the department's care program with motivational and supportive conversations, support for anxiety management, educational meal support, and other medical and psychiatric tasks. The focus is to work together with the patient and family members on established goals based on an individualized care plan. As a nurse, you are jointly responsible with your colleagues for nursing care for the team's patients and keep the patient in focus from a holistic perspective. Your role includes leadership responsibilities. About You We are seeking a licensed nurse. If you have specialist training in psychiatry or previous experience in psychiatry, this is a merit. We are seeking someone who wants to work with children and young adults. You enjoy working with supportive conversations and have an interest in both psychiatry and somatic care. You will work to some extent with children and families under age 16 and understand that patients and family members are always the focus. Experience with structured conversations is a plus.
