Nurse – Sollentuna Detention Center
About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the cycle of crime. If we succeed, society becomes safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation services, detention centers, and prisoner transport. Job Description The Swedish Prison and Probation Service operates certain open healthcare services, which means that all prisons and detention centers have medical clinics where inmates can seek care. In addition to nurses, the clinics also have general practitioners and psychiatrists. As a nurse, you run your own clinic for assessing minor ailments and you also determine which patients should see a doctor. This means you work with both somatic and psychiatric healthcare for inmates, assist at doctor's appointments, and administer medications, primarily through dose dispensing. Documentation is conducted in a patient record system specific to the Swedish Prison and Probation Service. As a nurse at Sollentuna Detention Center, you will meet people from all over the world and from all walks of life – a broad and human spectrum that makes each workday unique. You work in close collaboration with prison staff and other professionals, where structured cooperation and clear roles create a safe working environment.
