We are seeking an AFIS officer for South Lapland Airport About the Position South Lapland Airport in Vilhelmina is looking for someone who wants to work at the heart of the airport's operations – in the control tower. As an AFIS officer, you are responsible for providing flight information services to incoming and departing aircraft and maintaining safety on and around the airport. The job involves more than just what happens in the air. At a smaller airport, we are a small team that together carries the entire operation – from ground services and snow removal to administration, safety, and airport operations. This means varied and meaningful work where your contribution is directly crucial for the airport to function – every day, year-round. Your Profile We are looking for someone who: Thrives in a role with great personal responsibility but also values collaboration highly. Is solution-oriented and appreciates a workday that can offer both routine and unexpected challenges. Has good communication skills, both spoken and written, in Swedish and English. Has good computer skills. You are comfortable following rules and procedures, but can also think creatively when needed. Experience from other roles within airport operations or similar regulated environments is a plus. Qualifications AFIS certification or air traffic controller training Approved high school grades. Class B driver's license. Approved medical certificate (Medical Class 2) and normal color vision. Approved language test in Swedish and English according to the Swedish Transport Agency's requirements. The position is security classified, which means a background check by the Security Police is required.
