We are now looking for a dedicated and responsible personal assistant for a woman in her 70s with MS. She lives in Västerås. In your role as an assistant, you will make a difference in her life and have the opportunity to help a person live on equal terms as others, as much as possible. The work includes everything from personal care, intimate hygiene, mobility assistance, use of various assistive devices, help with activities, etc. Your workplace is in her home and wherever she may be. Working hours are scheduled for daytime/evening, both on weekdays and weekends. We would appreciate if you can also work with short notice when needed, due to illness or similar. Since you will be part of a team of personal assistants selected by and for your specific client, it is therefore important to have good work ethic where everyone supports each other and can work with short notice when needed, due to illness or similar. This client uses a Permobil and lives an active life with a dog that requires you to have experience with larger dogs. As an assistant, you will help the client activate and engage with the sometimes energetic dog, and of course you will go out with the dog in all weather conditions. Your workplace is wherever the client is. This may involve cycling, walks, swimming, and other activities. Appropriate clothing for weather and activities is required. It is very important that you are a positive and empathetic person who can be supportive during varying moods, as the client may experience fluctuating well-being due to psychological stress. You also need to be present as support during various conversations as well as planning the day and week for different activities. Assistance is needed with hygiene, cooking, cleaning/laundry, transfers, and other daily life tasks.
