Horse Groom JENSEN Equestrian

Would you like to combine your passion for horses with inspiring the next generation of professional practitioners? At JENSEN naturbruksgymnasium, the stable is our most important learning environment. As part of our stable team, you are responsible not only for safe and sustainable top-class horse care, but you are also a role model who shows our students what professional expertise means in practice. With us, high ambitions, good horse welfare, and a strong community where order, structure, and safety are central come together. We offer a horse care specialization in our state-of-the-art newly built equestrian facility in Tungelsta, Haninge. We place equal emphasis on theoretical subjects and the specialization's specialized subjects, so that students are well prepared for both higher education and have good opportunities for a career within their major interest. The specialization can be studied so students obtain university admission eligibility. The school also operates boarding activities and training/courses outside the gymnasium's operations. At JENSEN, we go our own way. We believe in discipline, health, and daring to think big. As a teacher with us, you become part of a tightly-knit team with extremely high commitment – in fact, over 90% of our employees recommend JENSEN as a workplace! Our high standard is confirmed time and again in the School Inspectorate's reviews. We combine classical education with modern "training for reality" through case exercises and a focus on academic writing. We believe in professionalism, a strong health profile, and a clear dress code that reflects our ambitions. Job Responsibilities As a horse groom, you are responsible for the ongoing, daily work of providing our horses with the best possible care and keeping the facility safe and in top condition. Your main tasks are horse handling including turning in and out, blanket changes, health checks, and feeding according to feed charts. You also perform physical stable work such as thorough mucking of stalls and paddocks, as well as cleaning of barn aisles and tack rooms. Additionally, you ensure a safe environment through inspection of fences, waste management, and maintenance of our riding surfaces. The role also includes some riding and some instruction to gymnasium students in practical moments in the stable, which requires assessment and documentation of students' progress. Qualifications You have at least a high school diploma and experience working in a stable with broad knowledge of horses and equestrian facilities. It is a merit if you have training as a riding instructor or trainer or have many years of competition experience. We would like to see that you have a BE driving license and that you are yourself an active rider. As a person, you are good at meeting different types of people and you always work for the team's benefit. You take full ownership of your work tasks and deliver with good quality. Furthermore, you are proactive in helping where needed and gladly go the extra mile. Your communication style is straightforward and friendly and you build trust quickly with students and colleagues. Terms The position is a permanent full-time employment where some weekend work may occur. We apply a 6-month probationary period. Start as soon as possible according to agreement. Becoming Part of the Team We work efficiently and in a modern way. Instead of a personal letter, we start with a number of selection questions and two work psychology tests that you receive directly after submitting your CV. This gives us an objective picture of your potential and you get quick feedback. Selection is ongoing and the position may be filled before the final application deadline, so don't delay submitting your application. Within preschool activities, school, and school childcare, you must according to Law (2000:873) submit a criminal record certificate for work within the school system. Application is made via the Police https://polisen.se/tjanster-tillstand/belastningsregistret/ with digital BankID. You can also order the form to be sent to your home, which you should do as soon as possible as it can take time. Note that the criminal record certificate is valid for 6 months. Questions?
