Temporary Staff for Elder Care Staffing Unit

Strängnäs Municipality's staffing unit is looking for temporary staff for our residential care facilities (nursing homes), home care services, and night patrol. With us, you'll meet elderly people who need various forms of support in their daily lives. This could include personal care and hygiene, meal preparation, cleaning, laundry, shopping, or accompanying them on outings. The support you provide depends on the person's needs and preferences. As temporary staff, you work when the operations need extra personnel. The need varies over time, and you receive hourly wages for the shifts you work. Each shift is a separate employment arrangement. Working as temporary staff is a great way to gain experience from different workplaces and create valuable contacts for the future. Our temporary staff are essential for our operations to function year-round—on weekdays and weekends, both day and night. 20 position(s). WORK TASKS At our residential care facilities, you help residents with the support they need in their daily lives. Much of the work is done in direct collaboration with the person you're assisting. At the same time, you have colleagues on site, and together you plan and distribute the work during the shift. In home care services, you work in the homes of people who have been approved for support. Between visits, you walk, cycle, or drive a car. You typically make visits on your own, but you're part of a team where you collaborate and help each other. The work also includes documentation. You may work day, evening, and weekend shifts. We're also seeking temporary staff who can work nights at some of our facilities. The work may include delegated health and medical care tasks. After some time in the operations, you'll need to be able to accept delegation in order for us to continue booking you for shifts. With us, depending on your education and experience, you can work as: • nursing assistant • care aide • assistant In Strängnäs Municipality, an assistant works to make daily life simpler and more pleasant for our elderly through service and basic care tasks according to the person's implementation plan. QUALIFICATIONS We're looking for you who: • are at least 18 years old, which is a requirement for working as temporary staff with us • can express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing • are accustomed to using digital tools, as documentation and scheduling take place in our systems • can cycle (for work in home care services) You should be prepared for the possibility of encountering pets in the homes of the people you visit. It's advantageous if you are/have: • completed upper secondary education • education in health and care • nursing assistant with protected job title • previous experience working in health and care • a B driver's license and are comfortable driving a car (for work in home care services) Your personal qualities are important to us. Short-term Housing for Children and Youth LSS The unit serves families with children and young people from 0 to 21 years. The short-term housing has 6 spaces. In daily work, you start from each user and adapt activities and daily schedules based on the user's needs. Group Housing LSS Adults Here people live in their own apartments. You'll work providing educational support, care and services, as well as support with leisure activities and social contacts. Alternative communication methods such as pictures, signs, and symbols may be used. Service Housing/LSS Adults Here you'll provide support to people based on their circumstances. The aim is to offer basic security in everyday life where you function as social support and help people structure their daily routines. Social Psychiatry/Housing Support SoL Work in Social Psychiatry focuses on users with mental health disabilities who need practical, educational, and social support. This may involve working with daily tasks such as planning, conversation support, cooking, cleaning and laundry, personal care and errands. We also have housing support services that visit users living in their own apartments throughout the municipality, so having a driver's license is a requirement. Daily Activities and Employment LSS/SoL Within daily activities, we offer various activities and tasks, both indoors and outdoors. We work with, for example, gardening, assembly work, cleaning, laundry, crafts, singing, music, and games. In all our activities, we focus on promoting health, so it's not unusual for us to take walks or conduct other health-focused activities during the day. Several of our activities include care work. Regardless of which activity you'll work in, you'll receive thorough introduction so you feel secure in your role. We work with trained supervisors and use appreciated introductory materials for new staff. As a substitute with us, you work as needed on an hourly basis, with a contract covering agreed working times and hours. A new employment relationship begins each time you work a new shift. We have a continuous need for substitutes. QUALIFICATIONS Who are you? We're looking for someone who: • is 18 years or older • has good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written • has good computer skills to handle the organization's systems for social documentation. • can work independently while following the organization's routines and approaches regarding users. It's advantageous if you have: • education from a care program or children's and leisure program, post-secondary education in behavioral science, special education, or other education that the employer deems equivalent. • experience in the LSS field and have worked with neuropsychiatric disabilities and psychiatry. • worked with low-arousal approaches and have experience creating educational environments characterized by calm and positive expectations. • experience with nurse delegation. • a Class B driver's license and good driving experience. This is a requirement for working in certain parts of the service area. If you work in the user's home, you need to be prepared for pets to be present in our users' homes. Being an hourly substitute with us requires a certain degree of availability to meet the organization's needs. We therefore prefer that you don't have another occupation of more than 50%.
