Family Treatment Specialist in Aftercare Project for Youth at Risk of Criminal Involvement

We are looking for a family treatment specialist for an exciting project position! Welcome to Us Welcome to the Unit for Prevention and Promotion in Skärholmen. Here you will have the opportunity to work with development-oriented preventive activities that focus on early interventions. Our unit includes field workers, school social workers, parent counseling, social intervention teams, and SSPF. The area is in an exciting phase; we are working intensively to develop working methods to meet the new Social Services Act and the district's needs. As an employee with us, you are part of this work. Within the High Availability Aftercare Project for Youth at Risk of Criminal Involvement, 3 family treatment specialists currently work. Skärholmen, together with three other district administrations, has been granted funding to develop aftercare interventions for youth as they leave state care. The target group is youth aged 13-17 with norm-breaking behavior, with emphasis on those involved in criminal activity. The work will involve close cooperation with actors outside our own unit, such as police, schools, the regional health authority, and others. The project started in 2025 and is planned to continue until December 2027. High Availability Aftercare for Youth at Risk of Criminal Involvement means that a special team consisting of family treatment specialists has been established in the relevant district administrations. The teams' main mission is to create conditions for a socially functioning life for youth leaving state care by offering coordinated and qualified support. The support is designed based on the youth's and parents' needs and is characterized by a high degree of flexibility regarding choice of method, intensity, and meetings with consideration to time, place, and form. The intervention is distinguished by high availability. To ensure flexibility and rapid interventions linked to needs, family treatment specialists and social workers exercising authority work closely together, among other things through frequent and regular check-ins. Your Role You work as a family treatment specialist and provide a structured aftercare intervention to youth leaving state care. The intervention includes different phases for planning, implementation, and maintenance and constitutes a comprehensive solution where social interventions are implemented at different levels in parallel. You work with the youth individually through behavior and skills training, with communication and interaction in the family from a systemic perspective, and with mobilizing and coordinating a prosocial network with both private contacts and professional actors. When needed, the intervention also offers practical support and guidance to establish necessary contacts, for example within healthcare, school, or organized leisure activities. Your Competence and Experience We are looking for someone with an excellent ability to work in a team and drive work forward in close collaboration with others. You are a stable and reassuring person who is good at creating, maintaining, and developing working relationships with youth, their parents, colleagues, and cooperation partners. We see that you approach your tasks in a structured way and can plan and prioritize your work based on changing conditions. For this position, you must have: A degree in Social Work or other university education that the employer considers equivalent Several years of experience working with children and youth Driver's license category B Merits for the position include: Experience working with the current target group Basic psychotherapy training equivalent to level 1 or other further training in the field of psychosocial treatment work Experience with systemic family treatment work focusing on youth, their parents, and other network members Experience from social services' authority-exercising activities Experience in psychosocial treatment work Other Information This position is a project employment until December 2027. You're responsible for investigating needs, making decisions about services, and collaborating with both internal and external actors to find the best solutions for our citizens. As a student employee, you'll receive a fixed-term position that applies for one term at a time. Working time is limited to a maximum of 15 hours per week on average per term, and how these are scheduled will be agreed upon at employment.
