Nursing Assistant for Family Respite Care at Västerviksgränd - Night Shift

Want to make a real difference in the daily lives of residents and their families? The Care and Service Administration at Östersunds Municipality is now seeking a driven nursing assistant for family respite care at Västerviksgränd. The unit consists of 12 places where residents stay during planned periods and receive the care and support they need, while their families get the opportunity for relief and recovery. Västerviksgränd 6-12 is centrally located on Frösön and is the new name for the family respite care and day activities at Södra Strand as well as the special housing facility Västervik located in the same building. An exciting reorganization has brought these units together, created a new name, and will allow them to work more smoothly together moving forward. In the house, competent and dedicated nursing assistants, care workers, coordinators, assistant unit managers, and unit managers work during daytime, which means support and collaboration are always available. During nighttime, there will be a total of 3 staff members in the house—two at the special housing facility and one at the respite care unit—which means you are never completely alone at night and can help each other as needed. The pace varies depending on which residents are currently at the facility, and it is common for some guests to be awake and restless during the night. Nurses are not on-site in the building but can be reached by phone if needed. There is also opportunity for support and knowledge exchange with physiotherapists and occupational therapists who work during daytime. Their support is provided mainly in writing, for example in matters concerning assistive devices. The position comprises 67.96% with the possibility of increasing your work hours within the administration. Working hours are scheduled for night shift work. We work according to a 15-week rotating schedule where work shifts recur every third week. Planned start is as soon as possible or by agreement. Your New Job As a nursing assistant at Västerviksgränds family respite care, you work with personal care and services for the residents staying there. You contribute to promoting the physical, mental, and social health of the residents while relieving their families. Your task is to care for and look after residents during the night, and you provide personal care based on individual needs and perform delegated health and medical interventions, such as specific care and rehabilitation. The work is performed independently but in collaboration with staff at the special housing facility in the same building. Since communication is primarily in writing, high demands are placed on clarity toward the day staff. During the night, you also prepare breakfast, facilitate for day staff, and perform cleaning according to established routines. In addition to this, joint night meetings are held a few times per year, usually once or twice per half-year. You also document in our management systems, which is an important part of your work tasks.
