Ambulance Services Västerbotten is a regional operation where ambulances are run by the region and operate from the towns of Skellefteå, Norsjö, Umeå, and Vindeln. Southern Lapland is divided into two departments, with Lycksele, Tärnaby, Sorsele, and Malå in one department and Vilhelmina, Storuman, Åsele, and Dorotea in the other. We are responsible for the care of acutely ill or injured patients at home, at the scene of an incident, and during transport to the hospital. We perform around 34,000 assignments annually in Västerbotten. As a department manager, your employees will be stationed in Åsele, Storuman, Vilhelmina, and Dorotea. The total number of employees is 25 full-time staff, whom you will primarily lead through remote management. Your base location as department manager will be determined in dialogue with the operations manager and will be Lycksele, Storuman, Vilhelmina, Dorotea, or Åsele. The ACIB assignment is distributed according to a rotating schedule, and the manager who is ACIB works across the region during on-call duty. QUALIFICATIONS You have a university degree or other education/experience that the employer considers equivalent. It is advantageous if you have experience working as a manager including personnel and budget responsibility, preferably if previous management assignments have involved remote leadership. It is further advantageous if you have worked in a leading position within an emergency operation with around-the-clock staffing and during major organizational change.
