About the Position (Now - December) As a teacher of wood and metalwork at IES Kista, you will: - Teach wood and metal crafts to students in grades 4–9 in accordance with the Swedish curriculum (Lgr22). - Be knowledgeable and passionate about your subject and inspire students in both technical skill and design. - Be a confident leader in the craft room with a focus on safety and a calm study environment. - Plan, implement, and assess engaging lessons that combine theory with practical craftsmanship. - Adapt and differentiate your teaching to challenge and support students at different levels. - Collaborate with colleagues in the aesthetic subject area to create an inspiring learning environment. - Contribute to the school's positive and international atmosphere. - Serve as a mentor for 16 students, supporting them to reach their full potential, regardless of background. Qualifications - Teaching degree and certification in crafts with a focus on wood and metal for grades 4–9. - Strong communication skills in both Swedish and English. - Experience teaching in an international or bilingual environment is an asset. - A structured, safety-conscious, and professional approach to teaching and teamwork. About the Position As a substitute teacher at IES Kista, you will: - Replace regular teachers during short-term absences and lead lessons in various subjects for grades F–9. - Follow lesson plans left by regular teachers to ensure continuity in student learning. - Maintain good order and a calm study environment in the classroom in accordance with school rules. - Be an active and visible adult in the corridors and during breaks. - Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to ensure the day runs as smoothly as possible for students. - Contribute to the school's positive and international atmosphere. Qualifications - You have completed upper secondary education. Begun or completed teacher training is highly desirable. - You speak and write fluent Swedish and have very good English skills, as we are a bilingual school. - You are flexible, punctual, and enjoy working collaboratively with different types of people. - You have a natural ability to lead groups of children and create a sense of security in the classroom. - Previous experience working with children or young people is required.
