About the Biogas Facility Our biogas facility is located in a rural setting along Route 52 just outside Katrineholm. The facility plays an important role in the transition to a more circular and sustainable society by converting organic waste streams into renewable energy and valuable plant nutrients. The facility primarily co-digests manure together with waste and by-products from agriculture and the food industry in the surrounding area. Through the biological process, biogas is produced and then upgraded to vehicle gas quality in a water scrubbing facility. The finished gas is compressed and distributed to customers via gas cylinders. As an important part of the circular economy, the nutrient-rich biogas digestate is returned to local farms, where it replaces mineral fertilizer and contributes to more sustainable agriculture.
