About the Workplace Eastern Primary Care encompasses Region Blekinge's health centers, youth clinics, Child and Youth Mental Health services, wound care center, Karlskrona Rehabilitation Center, and the Doctor's Mobile Unit. Residents of Blekinge who become ill turn directly to the health centers and gain access to health and medical care that does not require hospital resources. Care is provided in all cities in the county, in several smaller communities, and sometimes in patients' homes. Our goal is to be a modern outpatient care facility where teamwork and patients' needs are at the center. Region Blekinge places all permanent employees on war footing. Wämö Health Center is a medium-sized public health center located on the hospital grounds in Karlskrona. There are excellent communication options here as the bus and train station are in direct connection. You can get to Karlskrona City Center quickly by car or bus. Our facilities house the Evening and Weekend Clinic. Work Duties As a physician at Wämö Health Center, you will work broadly within general medicine with alternating clinics, both acute and scheduled, as well as home visits. We have approximately 7,400 registered patients. Here you will find, among other things, a laboratory, public health nursing, nursing clinic, counselors, diabetes clinic, asthma/COPD clinic, wound clinic, and rehabilitation coordinator. The health center also has responsibility for a special residential facility. You may also supervise students and medical trainees, which we view as a very important assignment in our operations and part of daily work. Great emphasis is placed on participation in continuing education activities. Opportunities are provided for participation in FQ/Balint groups for personal continuing education.
