About Us Department 58 is Region Blekinge's stroke unit, which means the department is responsible for responding to brain-saving alerts in eastern Blekinge and performing thrombolytic treatments. The goal is for all patients with acute stroke to receive care at Department 58. The department has 14 regular care beds for acute stroke care and, when space permits, also patients with other neurological diseases. Currently, the department is divided into two care teams.
