The Social Affairs Administration in Järfälla is responsible for elderly care, disability services, and individual and family care (IFO). Within IFO, we are approximately 200 committed and competent employees working to provide the municipality's residents with professional support and a high-quality social service. WORK TASKS As a social secretary for economic assistance, you work with public authority duties and are responsible for investigating and assessing the right to economic assistance and motivating people toward self-sufficiency. You will, among other things: • Investigate and process applications for economic assistance. • Investigate and assess the individual's right to economic assistance. • Make decisions in accordance with applicable legislation and delegation. • Document cases in a legally secure and structured manner. • Have contact with the individual through, among other things, visits, telephone, and written communication. • Collaborate with internal and external actors. • Work independently based on the operation's procedures and guidelines. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who has: • A degree in social work or another equivalent education that the employer considers equivalent. • Previous experience with public authority duties within economic assistance. • Experience with independent case management within economic assistance. • Experience with the LifeCare management system. • Good knowledge of the Social Services Act and other relevant legislation. • Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing. • Ability to work independently and quickly familiarize yourself with new operations. JOB DUTIES As a social secretary for children and youth, you work with authority, investigation and follow-up of measures for children and adolescents aged 0–20 years and their families. Your main task is to investigate the child's situation and make legally secure assessments in accordance with the Social Services Act and LVU, with the child's best interests and participation in focus. The work involves gathering information through conversations with children, guardians and their network as well as through cooperation with, for example, schools, health care and other authorities. You are responsible for planning, implementing and documenting investigations according to BBIC as well as following up that granted measures contribute to positive and sustainable change for the child and family. You work from a systemic perspective where the focus is on identifying the family's and network's strengths, resources and risk factors. An important part of the work is listening to the family's own solutions and creating conditions for participation and motivation for change. The role also includes formulating assessments, decision-making documents and statements as well as contributing to individual solutions that make a difference in children's and families' lives. You work closely with colleagues and group leaders in daily work and are expected to drive your cases forward in a structured, professional and legally secure manner. At the same time, you actively contribute to the team's joint work through cooperation, reflection and knowledge exchange as well as to a good working environment and the continued development of the operation.
