Description Sjöängsskolan is an elementary school (grades F-9) located at Örby Castle in Älvsjö with just over 700 students and 100 staff members. The school is accessible by public transportation, either via Gullmarsplan (a few minutes by bus) or from Älvsjö station (approximately 10 minutes walk or 5 minutes by bus). There is free parking on the streets outside the school. Sjöängsskolan is characterized by a competent staff. We have low staff turnover – most people enjoy working here and stay for a long time. Read more at https://sjoangsskolan.stockholm.se Find us here link map Job Responsibilities In your role as a childcare worker, you will work in the elementary school and in the after-school program to provide students with the learning and care they need to develop according to their own abilities. You will help create a daily environment that is developmental, meaningful, and positive for the students where they reach their full potential. Together with the responsible teacher and other school staff, you will participate in planning, implementing, and evaluating activities based on national goals and guidelines (curriculum). Care and supervision of students are other important parts of the role. Your tasks are varied and change throughout the workday. For example, you might be available as support for an individual student or students in the classroom, lead or participate in indoor and outdoor activities during the school day, during breaks, and in after-school activities. You also help students with dressing/undressing, bathroom visits, and meals. You will be part of the year 1 team, which collaborates with year 3 during breaks and after-school time. You work on instruction from the responsible teacher and cooperate with the teacher on how the work should be carried out. Your role also includes maintaining close contact and collaboration with other school staff, students, and students' guardians. Qualifications We're looking for someone who has completed childcare worker training or other training that the employer considers equivalent. We're looking for you who can create situations where students succeed and whose approach to children is characterized by respect and belief that all students can and want to develop. You should be able to build relationships and in daily work awaken students' interest and encourage them to learn. In your work, you use a low-affective approach, are professional, and can adapt your communication based on the situation. You are empathetic, mature, have good judgment, and can set boundaries. In your role, you are confident and understand the importance of being a positive adult role model. You can work independently and take initiative. In your interaction with students and guardians, you are clear and attentive to students' needs. You have strong ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.
