Research Assistant
The Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics, whose facilities are located primarily in the Arrhenius Laboratories along with the other chemistry departments and other institutions within the Faculty of Science. Nearly 270 people, of whom approximately 60 are doctoral students, are currently active at the department. The research is of absolute world-class quality and spans several major areas. Duties The Sahin Laboratory at Stockholm University studies protein dynamics and conformational landscapes of disordered proteins. We use a combination of biophysics, molecular biology, and biochemistry to study proteins' self-assembly and folding patterns and how these are affected by environmental factors. The work tasks primarily involve practical laboratory work, such as production of recombinant proteins, microscopy, and biophysical characterization. Analysis of experimental data, including analysis of cryo-EM data, is also part of the work. There is an opportunity for the candidate to develop their own project. The person hired will have the opportunity to work in a new research group.
