The Department of Surgical Sciences (IKV) is part of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy. We conduct both research and education at undergraduate, advanced, and doctoral levels. Research is carried out by approximately 20 research groups organized around different surgical specialties and related subjects, and education takes place within, among others, medical, nursing, and specialist nursing programs. IKV has approximately 140 employees, over 200 registered doctoral students, and roughly 900 people connected to the department in various ways.
