The Information Management Unit holds overall responsibility for managing Region Gotland's shared information assets. The unit consists of two operations: registry and regional archive. Visby Hospital has a broad healthcare mission and provides Gotland with acute and planned specialist care. The island location requires the resources of a large hospital while simultaneously offering the proximity and community feel of a smaller one. The ENT department is responsible for ear, nose, and throat care for Gotland's approximately 60,000 residents and handles around 7,000 visits per year.
