Personal Assistants Needed for a 20-Year-Old Man in Mora
Omtanken Assistans provides personal assistance for individuals with disabilities who have been granted assistance under LSS or SFB. We strive to be an organization where everyone feels comfortable, including our clients, their relatives, and our staff. To achieve this, we focus on quality over quantity. We want everyone at Omtanken to feel a sense of community, which is why we maintain close cooperation at all levels. I am a 20-year-old man with intellectual disability and autism. I live in an apartment in Mora but visit my parents every other weekend, and my assistants accompany me. During these visits, the workplace is located in Särna. As an assistant, you follow me wherever I go. I require significant supervision and can never be left alone. I need help with personal hygiene, eating training, and communication support. I do not speak, but instead use various sounds and gestures, as well as an app on my iPod that I can write on with text-to-speech. I enjoy taking the bus, being outdoors, cycling, or taking walks. Doing puzzles, having books read to me, playing games, and using my iPad are things I enjoy. I would appreciate it if you are creative and playful, as I also enjoy role-playing, such as playing store. Going to the swimming hall is also appreciated, but we try to do this when the pool is quieter since I am sound-sensitive. It is advantageous if you have previous experience with personal assistance, autism, intellectual disability, AAC, or low-affect interaction. The family has a dog and cat, so you cannot have pet allergies. It is a requirement that you are smoke-free during work hours. We are looking for a woman who wants to become a personal assistant for a 10-year-old boy who lives in Fisksätra with his family. You will work weekends and the working hours will be agreed upon with the family. The boy is very active and requires constant supervision. There are clear routines that must be followed.
