Region Västerbotten works to ensure that good health and sustainable development strengthen one another. Image and Functional Medicine (BFM) Västerbotten operates extensive activities at Norrland University Hospital in Umeå, Skellefteå Hospital, and Lycksele Hospital, as well as at health centers in southern Lapland. BFM Västerbotten is responsible for diagnostic radiological imaging examinations including nuclear medicine, mammography, and advanced peripheral and neuroradiological intervention. Our equipment includes seven MR cameras, nine computed tomography systems, two PET/CT systems, and one cyclotron. The clinic performs approximately 190,000 examinations per year. A significant portion of our operations consists of on-call work conducted at local, regional, and national levels.
