Project Manager at K.B.A in Karlskoga
For over 40 years, KBA Karlskoga Bygg- & Anläggnings AB has been a close and reliable partner to industry and other businesses in Karlskoga. Here you'll find the experience and security of an established company, while the market is strong and opportunities ahead are many. Now KBA is looking for a project manager who wants to take significant personal responsibility and become an important part of the company's continued development. KBA was founded in 1980 and is today a well-reputed construction and civil engineering company with approximately 30 employees. Operations span building services, renovations, and industrial services, with customers primarily in industry and the public sector. Over the years, the company has built long-term customer relationships and a strong position in the local market. – We have always been a partner that industry in Karlskoga can rely on. We know our customers, their operations, and this market very well. These are relationships built over many years and we are proud of them, says Peter Eriksson at KBA. From First Meeting to Finished Project As a project manager at KBA, you'll have a free and varied job where you follow projects all the way through. You meet with the customer, estimate the assignment, plan the execution, and are responsible for driving the project forward while maintaining control over personnel, finances, and quality. The scope is broad. One assignment might be an extensive renovation in an industrial environment, another a smaller service job that needs to be solved quickly. KBA has in-house expertise in concrete, carpentry, masonry, excavator, and construction work, which means the project manager will be close to both the people performing the work and the entire execution. – Here you really get to take ownership of your projects. You need to appreciate both large and small jobs and enjoy solving what comes up along the way. We have very broad scope and that's also what makes the work fun, says Peter. A Local Employer with Much Ahead At KBA, people work closely together. Project managers have visibility into each other's projects, help with estimates and planning, and cover for each other when needed. Many employees have been with the company a long time, some for much of their professional lives. The family feeling is noticeable in everyday life, from the shared morning meetings and breakfast to the way people help each other when the pace picks up. At the same time, there's the strength of something larger. Since the end of 2024, KBA is part of a Nordic group, which among other things provides access to more development and training opportunities. But the local anchoring remains. Projects are in Karlskoga and the surrounding area, so you won't have travel weeks far from home. Most importantly, there is much to do. Demand is high and KBA has a strong position in a market where industry continues to develop. For someone who wants to take responsibility, develop, and be where things happen, there are therefore good opportunities to build a long-term future in the company. – There's a special team spirit here. We help each other, share our knowledge, and solve things together. At the same time, you get great freedom and the ability to drive your own projects from start to finish. We've been in Karlskoga for a long time, have customers who know and trust us, and see the future very positively. If you want to be part of a down-to-earth team where there's much to do and where you can be part of developing Karlskoga together with us, I hope to hear from you, concludes Peter. Do you want to be part of KBA and help drive future projects in Karlskoga? We warmly welcome your application! Examples of Work Tasks Drive construction and civil engineering projects from first customer contact to finished project. Plan, lead, and follow up on project execution. Responsible for cost estimation, bid calculations, procurement, and finances in your own projects. Lead and coordinate employees and other contractors in projects. Maintain ongoing customer contact and build long-term relationships. Work with both smaller service assignments and larger contracts, primarily in industry and the public sector. Are You the One We're Looking For? We're looking for someone with experience in project management who is used to taking responsibility for driving work forward from start to finish. If you have a background in the construction and civil engineering industry, it's valuable, but it's not a requirement. You could also come from, for example, industry or another project-intensive business. If you have the right experience in leading, planning, and structuring projects, both the competence and support at KBA exist for you to grow into the industry and role. You are experienced in leading others and have an understanding of finances, planning, and follow-up. Experience with larger projects, cost estimation, procurement, or turnkey contracts is a merit, but your combined experience and ability to drive projects is more important than a specific background. As a person, you are driven, responsible, and solution-oriented. You enjoy having much to do, take ownership of your tasks, and can stand on your own two feet, while appreciating a way of working where people help each other and share their knowledge. Since you'll be an important face for KBA to the outside, you also need to enjoy customer contact and be good at creating trusting relationships. A valid driver's license is required.
