As Social Services Director, you are responsible for the municipality's combined social administration with the following operational areas: Elderly Care Individual and Family Care Municipality's Employment Unit Support for Persons with Disabilities Municipal Primary Healthcare You lead the operations through your managers and have overall responsibility for quality, finances, work environment, and operational development. The administration comprises approximately 600 employees who make a difference for our residents every day. As Social Services Director, you are an important part of the municipality's management team and actively contribute to developing the entire municipality. You are expected to see the bigger picture, create good collaboration across operational boundaries, and together with other managers drive Mörbylånga Municipality's joint development forward. QUALIFICATIONS We are seeking an experienced leader who combines strategic vision with a genuine interest in people and operations. Your role is to see the bigger picture, create direction, and make decisions based on core values. Furthermore, you remove obstacles and enable employees and managers to succeed rather than micromanaging operations. You do not feel the need to have all the answers yourself; instead, you see the strength in listening, asking questions, and utilizing the knowledge that exists among employees and managers close to the operations. You are confident in your leadership and create stability even when circumstances change. You have the ability to engage, create participation, and build strong relationships both within your own organization and with colleagues, politicians, union representatives, and external partners. To succeed in this role, you need: Academic degree/education such as Social Worker, Behavioral Science, or other relevant education Have several years of experience leading managers and larger operations within the public sector. Have a good understanding of social services and care's mission, conditions, and future challenges. Be a confident and strategic leader who can translate visions and goals into concrete results. Have experience driving change and development work in collaboration with employees and managers. Value trust-based leadership and see employee competence as the most important driver for development. Be communicative and skilled at creating trusting and long-term relationships. Work to ensure that operations are conducted in accordance with laws, guidelines, and political decisions. The position also requires a driver's license and access to your own car.
