The Swedish Church's Sweden-Finnish work in Örebro covers the entire pastorate but is physically located at Mikaels Parish. Many Swedish Finns visit regularly for both Finnish-language and bilingual services, as well as a broad range of activities for all ages. The community has a desire for the priest's presence and for deepening spiritual life. The Sweden-Finnish team consists of a priest, a diaconal assistant, and an administrator, but is also part of the work team at Mikaels Parish.
Job Responsibilities:
As a priest in Örebro pastorate's Sweden-Finnish ministry, you will regularly celebrate Mass in both Finnish and Swedish. In the Sweden-Finnish work, you are responsible for services, church ceremonies, pastoral care, teaching, services at care facilities, and devotions in various contexts. We hope you feel comfortable working with both elderly and children and their families. The position also involves considerable networking with parishes in the pastorate, with other Sweden-Finnish organizations, and with municipal and regional authorities, as Örebro County is a Sweden-Finnish administrative area. An important part is working for cooperation and integration between the Sweden-Finnish community and the Swedish-speaking parish. As a priest in Örebro pastorate, you are also part of shared vacation schedules and are expected to conduct Swedish-language church ceremonies and services in our various churches, as well as participate in pastorate-wide activities. The position offers space to develop what you are passionate about.

Örebro pastorate has approximately 8,500 Swedish Finns. The Swedish Church in Örebro consists of eight parishes with a rich and varied parish life. We have a shared office and cemetery administration. We also have the study center Solliden as well as individual and family counseling.
