We are now seeking a GIS Engineer who wants to take on a key role in our continued digitalization journey. You will be responsible for developing and ensuring the quality of the geodata that forms the foundation of our digital twin of water and waste facilities. As a GIS Engineer, you are responsible for our GIS systems and geodata and ensure that the information maintains high quality and supports planning, operations, analysis, and development of our water and waste operations. You work closely with the operations team and contribute to developing working methods, processes, and digital solutions within the GIS field. You will help shape the GIS function and work with geodata as tasks evolve over time. The role is central to the organization's ability to manage and develop GIS systems and to ensure accurate and quality-assured geodata that serves as the foundation for operations, planning, and decision-making.

Responsibilities
Manage and develop our GIS systems and geodata.
Produce maps, analyses, and statistics as a basis for investigations, planning, and decisions
Provide support, assistance, and training to users in the operations team.
Ensure the quality of geodata and develop routines and working methods for quality assurance
Drive the development of more efficient and automated working methods for collecting and processing geodata.
Contribute to development and documentation of working methods and long-term system management
Other Information:
The position is a permanent full-time employment with start date by agreement
The position will be placed in a security classification and a security clearance including background check will be conducted before employment
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you are analytical, structured, and have great drive. At the same time, you are attentive and collaboration-oriented, with the ability to build good relationships with the operations team and external stakeholders. You have a good overall perspective, see opportunities in digitalization, and can translate the organization's needs and ideas into practical solutions that create value.
University or college education in GIS, geodata, or equivalent
Several years of experience working with GIS systems and geodata. Preferably with Avekis products such as VA Banken and myCarta
Good understanding of how geodata is used to support operations, analysis, and decision-making
You are confident and comfortable in a role with many points of contact, both internal and external
Good ability to communicate in Swedish, both verbally and in writing
It is a merit if you have:
Knowledge of database management and SQL
Experience from water and waste operations or similar work within construction/infrastructure
