Hi! Have you or someone you know worked in care during the summer and found it to be rewarding and meaningful work? Look no further. We are now hiring a personal assistant in the Vetlanda area. The position is 70% with a rotating three-week schedule. According to this arrangement, Shifts are 12 hours Long breaks between shifts and only work every third weekend. There is an opportunity to work more during sick leave and vacations. We particularly welcome male applicants for this position and prefer candidates between 20-40 years old. The work involves helping our 15-year-old meet his needs and giving him the opportunity to enjoy being a teenager—playing video games, hanging out with friends, swimming, exercising—as well as assisting with daily routines including medication management, care, and communication. You will work as part of a larger care team, working both independently and in a group in a family environment. We believe you are a responsible, confident, and attentive person with fluent Swedish, both spoken and written. Experience and training as a personal assistant are prioritized. On-the-job training is also provided. A valid driver's license and your own car are required for this position, as there is no other way to reach the workplace. There is a cat at the workplace. PERSONAL ASSISTANT STENUNGSUND DAYTIME
At our client Tindra, we have made a major decision and therefore need to expand the team. We are looking for someone who is empathetic and has a big heart that you are truly open to sharing. Tindra needs staff who invest in her life and who genuinely want to commit to a long-term and engaged employment. She forms attachments and bonds with her staff, so you need to be prepared to let her get close to you. She lives in her own townhouse in the southern parts of Stenungsund. A driver's license and experience driving a manual transmission car are required for the position. Total smoke-free environment is another requirement Tindra has. As a personal assistant with Tindra, you need to be active and resourceful and prepared for every day to look different, while many things are constantly recurring. All to create security and predictability in her life. You will participate in all activities and support Tindra in every way she needs. Everything from ADL activities to outings and scheduled activities. You will be one of 9 assistants in her group and you will receive thorough introduction from those already working here. We want to be clear that we are looking for two people who see their employment long-term and will be willing to work hard to get along together. Much of your work time is in dual assistance but individual shifts with Tindra also occur. There is a small dog in the family so you cannot be allergic or afraid of dogs. Assistant's Role and Experience The client has autism combined with severe intellectual disability and epilepsy and therefore needs assistants who are skilled at reading her daily condition. You need to be able to adjust demands based on how she is feeling and coping, and it is there – when you succeed with that – that you will get direct feedback from her that you click with each other. She likes hugs and showing appreciation to her assistants so it is important that you can "hug back" in a genuine way in these situations. Tindra needs a clear picture schedule and to know what will happen, so if you have experience working with visual aids and sign support, it is highly appreciated. You are welcome to have some form of pedagogical education and experience from working in a home environment. To succeed in this job, you also need experience working with low-affect approaches and be used to challenging behavior, as her condition can vary over time. Desirable Experience Previous work with autism. Knowledge and experience of low-affect approaches. Like to be physically active, such as cycling, swimming, long walks, etc. Speak fluent Swedish. Interest in singing and music and preferably play an instrument. Ability to read and follow the client based on their daily condition. Work Time/Degree of Employment 50% part-time with 1 of 4 weekends. 80% part-time with 2 of 4 weekends. Start at the end of summer with introduction. Work hours are usually 7-17 but can also be 9-18. Our client is a young adult man with autism who needs support and guidance in his daily life. He has difficulties with verbal communication and interaction with others. He is physically active and enjoys swimming, walking, cycling, and moving around indoors. There are also times when he prefers to sit still for longer periods. It's important that you don't get restless easily. It's important in this work to be attentive and able to switch between different tempos. A large part of your work is also to provide good supervision of our client as he is very impulsive and does not understand consequences or risks. The work involves following the client through his daily life and helping him with things he cannot manage on his own. Your work also involves being a pedagogical friend who gives him the opportunity to develop in the areas where he has difficulties. In working with the client, we are inspired by Son-Rise. A pedagogy based on low-affect interaction, acceptance, and following the person's interests to create challenges for the client that in turn provide opportunities for development. The client has assistance around the clock. He has daily activities on certain days. On his days off, he has assistance all day.
