Personal Assistant Needed for Woman with PLS Two Days Per Week

We are looking for a reliable, engaged, down-to-earth, and attentive personal assistant for a 57-year-old woman living with a neurological condition (PLS) that affects her muscle function. The client needs support in her daily life and is now looking for someone who can be her arms and legs. This is a position for you if you want long-term employment and enjoy building a good and secure relationship with the person you work for. About the Position This is a part-time job for just two fixed days per week – Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 AM–6:30 PM. The work is varied and involves supporting the client in her daily life. Your tasks will include: - Mobility assistance - Personal hygiene - Cooking and meal preparation - Taking walks with the client and her dog - Other daily chores - Being a support and source of security in the client's daily life - Communication and personality are important The client does not communicate verbally but uses her keyboard to write what she wants to convey. It can sometimes take a while for her to express herself. We are therefore looking for someone with great patience who can wait for the client without rushing her. You need to be attentive, observant, and genuinely interested in understanding what she wants to say. For the client, it is important to find an assistant she feels comfortable with – someone who is down-to-earth, empathetic, and warm, and who can share her interests and make everyday life pleasant together with her. We are looking for you if you: - Are calm, secure, empathetic, and considerate - Have patience and can wait for the client in her communication - Speak and write fluent Swedish - Find it easy to take instructions - Are solution-oriented and flexible - Have good life experience and maturity - Have experience with personal assistance and understand what it is like to work in someone else's home - Preferably have many years of experience as a personal assistant - Preferably have experience working with people who cannot speak verbally It is especially valuable if you yourself have experience with personal assistance in the home, as this can provide a special understanding of the client's private perspective and what it is like to have assistance in your own home. Being able to respect personal integrity while also being present and engaged is important in this work. We would prefer that you live in or near Hummelmora/Viksjö in Järfälla, since the work is based at the client's home. Personal Fit is Most Important For us, it is important to find the right person. You will be working closely with the client in her home, and therefore the personal chemistry between you and the client is crucial. We are not just looking for someone who can perform the tasks, but someone who wants to get to know the client, create a secure relationship, and become a valued part of her daily life.
