Welcome to contribute to our work toward our vision – to become the West Coast's creative center. The Prevention Unit Children and Youth is seeking a new field secretary for our outreach team. The outreach team is part of Varberg Municipality's prevention work, and we are now recruiting a new employee to our outreach team. We work preventively and relationship-building through outreach work in public youth environments. The purpose is to identify young people at risk, i.e., those young people who risk coming to harm based on the environments and contexts they are in. We work both through outreach and relationship-building in risk environments and as safety-creating in other environments. Welcome to submit your application! 1 position(s). WORK DUTIES The outreach team meets young people who risk developing unfavorably in various ways. The field secretaries' task is to see the specific needs these young people have and forward them to the support they need, for example to parental contact, youth workers/open care, social services' authority activities, or the Culture and Recreation Administration's youth activities or other leisure activities. The outreach team also provides parenting support education for teenage parents, gives lectures, conducts training, and works preventively through, among other things, safe digital growth. We have no documentation obligation; instead, the practical work means that we are mostly out in the municipality and meet the young person in their arena, which could be at schools, streets and squares, youth centers, or other places where they gather. The field secretaries' target group is young people aged 10-20 years, with the main focus on those under 18 years. All contact between young people and field secretaries is on a voluntary basis, which means the young person always chooses what the contact should look like. You will move around different locations and may have meetings at different places during your workday. Field activities work with everything from individual youth contacts to holding lectures and parent meetings. We collaborate with schools, police, and the Culture and Recreation Administration and other civil society to together make a difference for young people's living conditions. Much of the work is based on the relationship between the young person and you as a field secretary and is built up through contact created in the outreach work. Evening and weekend work is included in the position. QUALIFICATIONS We are seeking someone who is trained as a social worker or has other education that the employer deems equivalent. Experience with youth work and collaborating with other professionals and people from different cultures is desirable. You preferably have experience or enjoy leading meetings and informing/lecturing to larger groups. As a field secretary, it is important that you convey a sense of security and calm approach. You have the ability to build relationship and trust with young people to motivate them toward various other support measures or more positive leisure activities, among other things. You have a solution-focused approach and good collaboration and initiative skills. You are open, positive, and have the ability to see possibilities. The position involves considerable freedom with responsibility, which requires that you can plan and structure your workday and develop the activities further based on needs that emerge among the young people and our collaboration partners. You need to be stress-resistant and flexible as a day as a field secretary is varying; you must then be able to prioritize what is most important and also be able to replan at short notice. We place great importance on personal suitability and qualities such as collaboration skills, initiative skills, and flexibility. A valid driver's license is a requirement. An extract from the criminal record register will always be obtained. Salary form: Monthly salary. Form of employment: Permanent employment. Duration: Start date: 2026-11-01 Start date by agreement.
