As an ELSA nurse, you have a permanent position, but you work in different departments to broaden your competence. You typically work for six or twelve months in each department before moving. Placement changes occur on March 1 and September 1. As an ELSA nurse, you are part of the department's regular staffing while you are there—you are not in addition to regular personnel. Your Assignment As a nurse in 24-hour psychiatric care, you have an important role in the team working with the patient's recovery.
