Eye Clinic, Nyköping Hospital About Us Region Sörmland's eye clinic is a regional clinic with departments at hospitals in Eskilstuna, Nyköping, and Katrineholm. We perform approximately 60,000 visits per year and conduct both surgical and outpatient activities including emergency services. Nyköping is a clinic with approximately 28 staff members. We who work here include doctors, nurses, ophthalmic nurses, orthoptists, opticians, nursing assistants, and administrative staff—all with different expertise to provide our patients with the best care. Your Responsibilities As a nurse or master optician at our eye clinic, you will have varied and diverse work. The clinic's tasks include preparing patients for doctor visits with various examinations, and you may also have your own independent clinics—for example, fundus photography and visual field testing. A large patient group with us consists of those with macular degeneration problems. These conditions are treated with intravitreal injections, which our nurses perform after training. Consultations via TeleQ are also part of your responsibilities as a nurse/master optician, though this becomes relevant after you have gained some experience with our operations. At our eye clinic, it is important to us to give you a thorough introduction and training so you feel confident when you start working independently.
