The Swedish Inspectorate for Defense Intelligence Activities (Siun) is seeking a senior legal counsel. Siun is a small agency that ensures that defense intelligence activities conducted by the Swedish Armed Forces, the Swedish Defense Radio Institute, the Swedish Defense Material Administration, and the Swedish Institute of International Affairs are carried out in accordance with the law. Siun also, through a special decision-making body called the Delegation for Control, reviews individual requests to determine whether individuals have been subject to unauthorized signals intelligence. Siun is led by a board that makes the agency's decisions. Siun's secretariat supports the board's work. About the Role As a legal counsel at Siun, you will participate in the agency's oversight activities and, together with your colleagues in the secretariat, prepare oversight reviews at the defense intelligence agencies. You will conduct and present oversight preparations, legal investigations, and present proposals for decisions. You will also, as part of the Delegation's activities, investigate inquiries from individuals regarding whether they have been subject to unauthorized signals intelligence. The agency's administrative law duties are also part of your work.
