Department A4 is an acute medical care unit. With us, you will meet and care for patients in need of both acute and planned postoperative care, with a focus on upper and lower gastroenterological, thoracic, vascular, urology, ENT, and oncological surgery patients. The department has 18 care beds and, if needed, two overflow beds. With us, you will experience variety in both pace and work tasks, and you will have the opportunity to become both well-rounded and a specialist in acute medical care. Your Work Tasks In your role as a registered nurse with us, you are responsible for your care team and lead patient care. You work together as a team, with a particular focus on the patient's condition, planning, and treatment. About the Department The Diabetes-Endocrinology Clinic at Falun Hospital provides specialized outpatient care for patients with endocrine conditions. The responsibilities include conducting your own clinic appointments and providing telephone consultations to patients and healthcare personnel who work with people with diabetes. Municipal healthcare is responsible for patients in both residential care facilities and ordinary homes. We meet patients with many different illnesses and needs. As a nurse, you work cross-professionally with nursing assistants, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists. Our goal is for patients to feel secure and live an independent life. JOB DUTIES As a nurse in the municipality, you will meet patients of all ages with varying illnesses and needs. Your patients may live in residential care facilities, group homes, service housing, or stay in short-term care units. The work involves both planned and emergency healthcare interventions. Your job duties include: • medical assessments • medication management • wound care • end-of-life care • operation of medical equipment You provide support and advice to patients and their families and collaborate with other healthcare providers. You work closely with the health center physician and care coordinator and have access to specialist expertise in areas such as palliative care and dementia. Documentation and supervision of nursing staff are central aspects of your work. The position also includes collaboration with social workers and managers and staff in elderly care and support services.
